The Experience

As you're searching for the wedding photographer of your dreams (it's me) I know one of the main things you're considering is price. I really want you to be comfortable with what you're paying me and have an understanding of why you're not just paying me to show up for a day and push a button. If that was the case then I'd be way overpriced and I wouldn't want to pay my fee either. What you get with me is more than just a gallery of lovely images. You get a whole experience that starts the moment you message me.

what you can expect from me as your wedding photographer.

Most importantly, I can pick you up and carry you to and from portrait locations if needed. lol Please, see the pinned post on my Instagram (@alymacphotos) for this reference. Haha!

More seriously though, I've been shooting weddings for awhile. Ten full years of telling love stories and I can tell you, with my whole heart, that it is the best job in the world. I love what I do. I actually love love! *insert high pitched giddy squeal*

Enter Ewan McGregor circa 2001 in Moulin Rouge:

"Love is like oxygen,
Love is a many splendor thing,
Love lifts us up where we belong.
All you need is love."

And I LOVE getting to be a part of your wedding day. I'm invested in your love story and I like to tell my couples to think of us as a team. Together, you, your person, your beautiful chemistry and love, combined with me and my skills are going to make magic. And, I'm not even lying when I say I'm already so excited!

Something I hear repeatedly from couples is how comfortable I made them feel while we were working together. I understand it can be a little scary and anxiety inducing to be at the end of my lens and there's no way I'm letting anyone go through a portrait session or wedding day like that. I take pride in creating a space where everyone is comfortable being themselves and expressing their love.

"Michael and I just wanted to take a moment to say what a wonderful experience we had today. You do a fabulous job! We appreciate how comfortable you made us and how diligent you were in making sure every aspect was perfect! We cannot wait to work with you again for our wedding." - Kayla

Some of that anxiety is couples thinking that they might need to direct their portrait session, know how to pose or what to do. I'm here to tell you no, that is absolutely not your job. That's my job and it's a skill I've taken a lot of time developing. I'm really proud to be able to pose people in a way that is flattering (not all photographer's do) and direct organic interaction between them which always produces the loveliest images. And, I'll teach you how to dip like pros.

This carries forward throughout the wedding day during family formals and any other portrait session. And while I'm not there to direct your day, I will certainly step in and guide you towards the best lighting, location and backgrounds as I see fit.

Weather you know it, or even want it, we're going to be best friends for the day (and if it extends beyond that, I'm okay with that too!). We'll have a genuine connection, inside jokes, lots of laughs and I'll integrate myself so seamlessly into your people that you'll forget I'm not one of you.

"I seriously don't think we could've gotten married without Alycia there! Not only was she an excellent wedding photographer who went above and beyond to get the shots we wanted, but she also saved the day multiple times. She guided us through multiple wardrobe crises and literally had to bustle my wife's dress after the ceremony. She was calm and confident and immediately felt like part of the family. As a lesbian couple, we felt incredibly comfortable working with Alycia, and we're so grateful that she was a part of our special day. Absolutely recommend working with her!"
- Alison

I've sewn brides, bridesmaids and mothers into dresses. I've applied lashes when no one else in the room knew how. I pin boutineers on grooms and groomsmen and regularly give tutorials on how to fold a pocket square. I'm basically the MacGyver of wedding photographers.

Like I said, we're a team, and I'm there to be as helpful as I can be.
